Siblings

In July my first born will be six
Dripping with wonder, she won’t be outdone
Passion and aspirations transfix

There she stands with her brother, my son…(tharr be more)
Hands out the window to feel the rain
Life is big and small at almost one

Between them a connection hard to explain
Like the mighty ocean to the many grains of sand
Sparkling erupting laughter without restrain

What is unspoken, only siblings understand
Of how to survive childhood and not erode
A divine relationship I am sure will withstand

Together they’ll learn to make life their abode
