Laundry

Mundane dreams wake me in the night
Driving me to fold piles of laundry
In the deep darkness

Waves of socks fall into my lap
And swears muttered in whispers
Fumbling to find them all

Shirts halved and quartered
Repetition of motion
Sweet t-shirt smell

Boxers peeled from sweat pants
Lightning sparks in the night
Rip crackle zaps of static

Meditation in consistent normalcy
Reverberation of waking dreams
Replace sleep dance

Mountainous formations increase
A range of possibilities
Fingers flip, fold and flop

Hands moving
Mind still
I begin to understand
